Everyday stoneware, glazed in four colours.

Mugs, bowls, plates and teaware, thrown in small batches and fired twice. Made to be used every day and washed in the dishwasher.

Fired twice, finished by hand

Every piece starts as stoneware clay on the wheel. We trim it once it firms up, bisque-fire it, dip it in glaze and fire it again at 1260 °C. The foot is left bare so you can feel the clay underneath.

Because each piece is dipped by hand, no two match exactly. The glaze runs thicker in some places than others, and that is how it is meant to look.

More about the studio

Four glazes

Everything we make comes in one of these. Colours shift a little from one firing to the next.

Cobalt

A deep blue gloss that pools darker where it runs thick.

Celadon

Pale green and semi-matte, with a soft sheen in daylight.

Ash

Warm grey, speckled by iron in the clay underneath.

Tenmoku

Dark brown that breaks to rust on rims and edges.
